Powering the 2019 GMC Savana Cutaway is a standard 4.3-liter V6 engine that makes 276 horsepower and 298 lb-ft of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. There are two optional engines. A Vortec 6.0-liter V8 VVT engine cranks out 341 hp and 373 lb-ft of torque, teamed to a six-speed automatic gearbox. There's also a 6.0-liter V8 gaseous CNG-/LPG-capable engine with the same power output as the conventional V8 powerplant.

There's also an optional Eaton automatic locking rear differential, which locks the left and right wheels to add traction when it senses a difference in wheel speed of 100 rpm between the left and right rear wheels.

Safety features that come standard include six airbags, electronic stability control, a theft-deterrent system and tire pressure monitoring. Also available is Collision Alert. If the system senses a front-end collision is about to occur, it can warn the driver. It can also detect if the driver is following a vehicle ahead too closely and sound an alert.
